Welcome to the Western Approaches - Liverpool War Museum

Welcome to the brand new Western Approaches website. We hope that you enjoy visiting our site, and would appreciate any comments that you may like to make. The site contains all the information you need on the bunker's involvement in the Battle of the Atlantic, its re-creation to what it is today, points of contact, and our opening times.

We open back up to the public on the 1 st March every year. The Western Approaches is open from 10.30am to 16.30pm, with the last admissions being at 15.30pm, every day except Friday and Sunday. This may be negotiable for larger parties wishing to visit. To arrange an advance booking, visit our contacts page.

2005 is going to be an important year for many people; as it recognises the 60th Anniversary of VE Day, which signified the beginning of the end of World War 2. Veterans Awareness week is also taking place, and here at the Western Approaches, we are hoping to be able to offer a number of specially organised events, which will tie in with both of these.
